Experience what the ancient Mediterranean traders once felt when they first sampled the magical oil from gently pressed olives on the sun-drenched Dalmatian Coast. Imported to Seattle by Dalmatian Kitchen, this fantastically flavorful creamy golden oil is a pure delight to the pallet and quite possibly one of the most effective health foods on earth.

Join us for a tasting experience aboard a classic yacht and let us share with you the story of this fine and wonderfully delectable oil of the gods. You will depart for a short tour of Elliot Bay and then we will shut off the engine and quietly drift on the tranquil sea while season-fresh pairings are prepared and served.

During this time of culinary discovery, you will learn the history and health benefits of olive oil--what to pair it with and how to share it with friends. Learn why olive oil is the foundation of Mediterranean cuisine and how it may have inspired the myth about the Fountain of Youth.

Fine olive oil is very much like fine wine. The oil you will be served is known as "village oil", a centuries old traditional staple on the isle of Broc. The virgin oil is produced in small quantities and is seldom available to outsiders as it is typically consumed entirely by the local inhabitants.

What makes this oil so special is that the olives are hand picked and culled at the peak of ripeness from majestic trees hundreds of years old. Their gnarly twisted trunks and leef-speckled canopies draw what ancient mariners discovered was an unusually perfect balance of nutrients from the island's rocky soil.

Unlike factory pressed olive oil, the fruit is only lightly crushed to extract just the most delicate oils in the first pressing. This gives it a very creamy, flavorful and naturally naked olive taste with not a hint of the typical harshness present in production oil.

Olive oil and classic wooden boats go hand in hand. For it was this very same region of the world where the plank on frame methods of traditional west coast boat building were originally conceived. Early century yachters and fisherman alike provisioned ample quantities of olive oil an every voyage. It was frequently said that Croatian fishermen consumed more olive oil than lube oil on their boats. We continue this tradition today on our antique vessels.

Come aboard and let us share with you this special oil, and a healthier way of life.
